Should there be death penalty for Rape ???

A very good morning to all of you !
I am Ashutosh Chittora from BVP Pune Speaking for the motion and would like to introduce you to the dead soul of MAYA TYAGI standing at that corner of the room.

She was 18 when she got engaged with the prince of her dreams. Her father was very happy and he should have been as all the dowry arrangements were made appropriately.
But this was not what was written for here .Fate had decided something else and one night she was brutally and ruthlessly raped .It happened 5 times that night.
As a result her society and her family rejected to accept her.

Her Prince charming said,

"How can I eat in the plate in which someone has already eaten " .

Even the law protectors Didn’t register her FIR as the culprit belonged to the son of the Ruling party Politician.
One Day her last hope ,the hope of justice and the so-called Self respect was shattered and she did what we call the foolishness --> Suicide

And Now , she stands right in front of you in hope of getting justice from you people.
I ask on her behalf , What was wrong and whom to blame --> The society , the prince charming, the culprit or the Handicapped law which was not able to provide justice.
Friends , this is just not the story of this MAYA , we have lots of MAYAS in the form of 6-month old girl , that 60 year old lady and the smiling girl who was just entering her Dreamworld.
We have demons spread all over to shatter these beautiful creatures.

And Yes we do have laws . In a country like India where every 50 min there is a Registered RAPE which amounts to 60%. . It means 66000 registered lives are affected considering the fact that the rape victim wasn’t married and she had no kids. Out these 11 % victims are lucky as they die on the spot .

In 1860 penal code 376 gives a punishment of minimum 7 to maximum 14 years of punishment.
The number of rape cases have been increasing in numbers and taking new shapes but the law isn’t.

After the punishment of 7-14 years rapist is free again to live his natural life in the so called society and probably free to commit another rape.
But the victim has no right as such because we have no demarcation between emotional and physical killing.
I recommend strong actions against these culprits. DEATH SENTENCE.
Even if one or two innocent die in the process it has to be accepted to save emotional killing of those 66000 people suffering every year. We need to set an example for those demons so as before committing this crime they cry tears of blood.

Hey Maya , stop crying and stop your hopeful eyes gazing for justice ! Don’t expect help from these people because in a male-oriented society even MAA DURGA , SARASWATI is worshipped only till our society gives them a clean chit. Else no RAM would dare to reject SITA even after knowing that she loved her and was sacred and pure.

Maya , these are the people according to whom , “ If you can’t escape the rape then just sit back and enjoy.” Yes very CHEAP entertainment.
Our men have the privilege to break their virginity before marriage and which is considered as an art of brilliance but if the woman does that we all know what we call her. Unluckily we don’t have nicknames for men.
There is no denying the fact that even a dog would enjoy more rights than a woman in our society after this heinous act.

But my friends I still request you to change your psyche with Maya for a minute and just for one minute feel the Physical, psychological and social pain. Now feel and share how your soul is shattered when that demon touches you.
Would you still trust in the law if this thing unfortunately happens to our sisters or mother ?

Yes , what your heart has spoken now is the answer. DEATH PENALTY
At last I would like to conclude that :
Stand up and protect your woman
Be BOLD and kill that demon
Kill that demon and set an example
Else just wait and play the gamble.
